How To Make Puto Kutsinta At Home
Kutsinta ingredients:
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp powdered milk
- 1 tsp lye water
- 2 cups water
Puto ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3 tbsp powdered milk
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Toppings:
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1 cup grated coconut
Flavored kusinta (optional):
- 1/4 tsp buko pandan
- 1/4 tsp ube
Instruction:
- Lightly grease the molders
- Bring 1 liter of water to a boil
- Kutsinta: In a bowl combine all purpose flour, brown sugar, powdered milk, water and lye water. Mix well
- Strain mixture
- Fill half of each molder with kutsinta mixture
- Steam over med. low heat for 5 minutes
- *after 5 minutes do the toothpick check and if it's firm the kutsinta is cook.
- Remove from steamer and let it cool
- Puto: In a bowl combine all purpose flour, suagr, powdered milk, baking powder, water and vanilla extract. Mix well
- Strain mixture
- Pour 1/8 cup puto mixture into each molder
- Steam for another 8-10 min. over low heat
- *after 8-10min. do the toothpick check and if it comes out clean or with few moist crumbs the puto is cook
- Let it cool before unmolding
- top with grated cheese or grated coconut
